About the role
The Industrialization and Supplier Development Manager will lead the technical qualification, development and industrialization of POWERTECH’s manufacturing supply base across the UAE and international networks. This hands‑on aerospace manufacturing leader will ensure supplier readiness from capability assessment through to production ramp‑up for turbofan, microjet and piston engine programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical capability assessments of suppliers covering machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding and casting.
- Evaluate manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling, fixturing, metrology, special processes, sub‑tier controls and quality maturity.
- Conduct capacity studies, validate capacity through run‑at‑rate demonstrations and manage bottlenecks.
- Own supplier development plans, maturity gates, entry/exit criteria and evidence requirements.
- Govern APQP, PFMEA, control plans, routings, tooling, gauging, process validation and production readiness.
- Provide senior technical authority for supplier manufacturing and process issues, leading root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead technology transfer and industrialization of manufacturing processes to partners.
- Ensure completion of tooling, gauging, CNC programs, documentation and training before handover.
- Build and lead the Industrialization & Supplier Development team and present readiness status to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology, Inspection and Product Quality.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Materials Engineering.
- 10+ years of aerospace/aero‑engine manufacturing experience, including supplier development, industrialization or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong expertise in machining, turning, grinding, forming, welding/brazing and investment casting.
- Deep knowledge of APQP, PPAP/AS9145, AS9102 FAI, PFMEA, control plans, process capability and MSA.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP standards.
- Proven experience building supplier development capability from the ground up.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work regularly at supplier sites.
