Information Security – Data Protection Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Information Security professional to lead data protection initiatives within our banking organization. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring compliance with local and international data privacy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement bank policies in line with CBUAE Consumer Data Protection, UAE Privacy Laws, and global data protection requirements.
• Lead cross‑functional working groups to coordinate data protection projects and regulatory awareness.
• Conduct privacy monitoring, compliance testing, and gap analysis of the existing data protection framework.
• Maintain an inventory of personal data and processing activities across the organization.
• Collaborate with Contracts, Vendor Management, and Compliance teams to ensure third‑party agreements meet privacy standards.
• Promote a culture of data security through training and awareness sessions for staff.
• Manage external vendors and auditors during assessments.

Required profile

• Engineering degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data protection within the BFSI sector.
• Hands‑on experience implementing data protection regulations.
• Familiarity with CBUAE, UAE privacy laws and global data protection frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CDPO are preferred.
