In‑Room Dining Order Taker – Luxury Resort

About the role

The In‑Room Dining Order Taker creates a warm, personalised dining experience for guests by handling phone orders with professionalism and attention to detail. You will be the first point of contact for guests wishing to enjoy meals in the comfort of their rooms, guiding them through menus and ensuring accurate order processing.

Key responsibilities

• Answer In‑Room Dining calls promptly, delivering a welcoming and courteous experience.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately, noting special requests, dietary requirements, allergies and preferred delivery times.
• Know the menus, daily specials and beverage selections to confidently recommend dishes and accompaniments.
• Enter orders into the Micros POS system and communicate details clearly to the kitchen and service team.
• Coordinate with culinary and service colleagues to ensure timely preparation and delivery.
• Handle guest questions, concerns and follow‑up to meet expectations, and process billing and room charges according to hotel procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in In‑Room Dining, room service, restaurant operations or a similar Food & Beverage role is preferred.
• Excellent telephone etiquette with clear, confident and professional communication.
• Strong attention to detail when taking and entering guest orders.
• Good knowledge of food and beverages, able to explain menu items and make recommendations.
• Basic reading, writing and maths skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
