Inspector - Civil, Structural & Architectural

About the role

Khatib & Alami is looking for an experienced Inspector - Civil, Structural & Architectural to join its construction supervision team in Dubai. The inspector inspects civil, structural and architectural works on building and villa projects, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards and applicable Dubai regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Civil and structural inspection: foundations, excavation, reinforcement, formwork, concrete pouring and curing, and structural elements such as columns, beams, slabs, staircases and retaining walls.
• Verify reinforcement arrangements, concrete cover, embedded items and formwork before concrete casting, and check compliance with approved structural drawings, specifications, method statements and inspection and test plans.
• Coordinate concrete inspections, sampling and testing, identify defects and non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
• Review shop drawings and material submittals and report discrepancies to the supervision team.
• Architectural inspection of blockwork, plastering, tiling, flooring, painting, ceilings, doors, windows, façade finishes, waterproofing and other finishing works.
• Check finishes for alignment, level and workmanship, monitor installation of architectural materials and inspect before work is concealed or covered.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architecture.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction inspection and supervision.
• Strong experience in building and villa construction projects, preferably in Dubai.
• Knowledge of Dubai Municipality requirements and local construction standards.
