Project Engineer - Power Transmission & Distribution Cabling

About the role

Al Rostamani Group's Emirates Electrical Engineering unit, which designs and builds turnkey electrical power projects such as high voltage substations, cable networks and transmission lines, is looking for a Project Engineer in Dubai. The role manages the planning, execution, monitoring and control of civil engineering activities in Power Transmission and Distribution Cabling projects, liaising with the site team, client and authority engineers to obtain engineering approvals and NOCs, and securing final clearance once projects are completed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil works schedules with the site and project managers.
• Review and recommend approval of engineering drawings, shop drawings, specifications and documents.
• Coordinate cable route engineering with the site team and design manager and obtain client and authority approvals.
• Manage site civil engineers and supervisors and monitor resource use within the project budget.
• Coordinate client inspections, obtain certification of work progress and collate documents for records and invoices.
• Accompany government authorities and RTA officials to obtain final clearance certificates.
• Interpret geotechnical reports, identify risks and manage technical challenges.
• Carry out quality inspections, testing and validation of civil works, and keep stakeholders informed through regular reports and presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a diploma in Civil Engineering.
• RTA approval for project works in right of way.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in electrical projects; 3 years of supervisory experience desired.
• Experience designing building structures and transmission line towers desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in civil engineering software and project management tools.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and authority regulations.
• Project management skills covering planning, resource allocation and risk management.
