Interim Planning and Controls Manager - Renewable Energy

About the role

WeConnect Energy supports a key customer in Abu Dhabi looking for an interim Planning and Controls Manager for a conventional CCGT or renewables project (BESS or PV). The role oversees project planning, scheduling and cost control so that projects are delivered on time and within budget, working closely with project managers, finance teams and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse planning and reporting requirements from the Power Purchase Agreement, EPC contract, grid connection, land and permitting obligations and other project agreements, and lead project controls oversight for the assigned renewable project(s).
• Run critical path analysis, verify and challenge changes to baseline schedules, and report findings to the project company's team with recovery measures.
• Monitor EPC contractor compliance with project planning and control requirements and support weekly planning reviews and progress/discipline meetings.
• Help recruit the project company's project control engineer, then oversee their work and act as an independent project controls assurance representative, challenging assumptions, forecasts and recovery proposals.
• Perform periodic project controls health checks and escalate schedule, progress, resource, risk, change and claim issues affecting contractual or shareholder objectives.

Required profile

• Experience in project planning, scheduling and progress tracking in energy or related industries.
• Prior experience in the energy sector, specifically renewables or CCGT, is required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance or a related discipline; PMP or APM certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Cost control, budgeting and financial analysis.
• Project management software such as Primavera or MS Project.
• Data interpretation and presentation, including dashboards and reports.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills.

What we offer

• Package of 70,000 UED per month.
