Internal Compliance and Audit Lead

About the role

Bybit, a cryptocurrency exchange and digital financial platform founded in 2018, is looking for an experienced Internal Audit Expert to join its global internal audit function. The role develops and executes risk-based audit plans, leads end-to-end internal audit engagements and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, providing assurance to senior management and the Board on governance, risk and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute risk-based internal audit plans aligned with strategy, regulatory requirements and emerging risks, and evaluate governance, risk management and internal controls.
• Lead and oversee audit engagements in line with IIA standards, draft audit reports with findings, root causes and recommendations, and follow up on remediation.
• Use data analytics, including SQL-based extraction and analysis, and AI-driven tools to strengthen testing, continuous monitoring and risk assessment.
• Stay ahead of trends in cryptocurrency, DeFi and blockchain and adapt audit approaches accordingly.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as Compliance, Risk and Finance across global functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field; CPA, CIA, CISA or similar certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal auditing or compliance in financial services, fintech or cryptocurrency.
• Experience leading regulatory or external audit reviews and managing complex, cross-border audits.
• Strong knowledge of cryptocurrency exchange operations, blockchain and related regulatory frameworks.
• Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, and able to present to senior management.
• Proficiency in Chinese and English for business use.

Required skills

• Understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management and IIA auditing standards.
• Data analytics, including SQL.
