International Consultant – Trafficking in Persons (3 positions)

About the role
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks three international consultants to develop and finalize studies on trafficking in persons. The work is home‑based and will be conducted under the supervision of the OGCCR Project Coordinator and the Representative for the GCC Region.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and review a study on forced labour trafficking in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including legal gaps, victim protection mechanisms and recommendations.
- Develop and review a study on the nexus between trafficking in persons and other crimes, analysing legal overlaps and proposing legislative amendments.
- Develop and review a study on sexual exploitation in travel and tourism, identifying indicators, victim assistance procedures and policy recommendations.
Required profile
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in law, criminology or related social sciences; or first‑level degree plus two years relevant experience.
- Minimum seven years of professional experience in crime prevention, law enforcement, prosecution, criminal justice, international relations or international criminal law.
- Practical experience conducting legal assessments and research on trafficking in persons and delivering related training.
- Knowledge of UNTOC, UN Trafficking in Persons Protocol, Islamic law and the Arab regional anti‑human trafficking instrument (desirable).
- Working experience in the GCC and/or MENA regions (desirable).
- Fluency in English and Arabic; French is an official UN language.
