About the role
The Inventory / Supply Planner will develop and execute inventory and supply plans to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory. Working closely with demand planners, category managers and cross‑functional teams, you will support the S&OP process and drive data‑based decisions to meet service level and working capital targets.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain inventory and supply plans, aligning with Open‑to‑Buy budgets and financial objectives.
- Collaborate with demand planners, category managers, procurement, logistics and warehouse teams to balance forecasts with supply capabilities.
- Provide inventory insights, supply recommendations and risk assessments during S&OP meetings.
- Analyse sales trends, stock turns, fill rates, aging and excess inventory to optimise product availability.
- Generate purchase and replenishment plans based on demand forecasts, lead times and supplier performance.
- Identify supply‑chain risks and implement mitigation actions to avoid stock‑outs or overstock situations.
- Support new product launches, seasonal planning and promotional activities with accurate inventory planning.
- Prepare regular planning reports, dashboards and business reviews for management.
- Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives in forecasting accuracy and inventory management.
- Maintain data integrity in ERP and planning systems.
Required profile
- 4–5 years of experience in inventory, supply or merchandise planning, preferably in retail, distribution or consumer‑goods environments.
- Strong knowledge of S&OP, Open‑to‑Buy, demand planning and inventory optimisation.
- Experience with categories such as electronics, toys, home appliances or general merchandise is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Effective communication skills to work across commercial and supply‑chain teams.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Familiarity with planning tools used for inventory and supply planning.
