Islamic Teacher for Non-Arab Students (Cycle 1-2)

About the role

International Community Schools (ICS) at its Al Falah City campus in Abu Dhabi is looking for an inspiring Islamic Teacher for non‑Arab students covering Cycle 1 (KG2‑Grade 2) and Cycle 2 (Grade 3‑Grade 5). The teacher will deliver Islamic Studies within an American curriculum, supporting spiritual growth and cultural understanding.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Islamic Studies lessons for non‑Arabic speaking pupils in Cycles 1 and 2.
• Integrate Islamic content with the American (Common Core/US Standards) curriculum.
• Assess student progress using formative and summative methods and adapt instruction to diverse language abilities.
• Maintain a respectful, disciplined classroom environment that fosters both spiritual and academic development.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and school leadership to support student wellbeing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Sharia, Quranic Sciences or a related field from an accredited university.
• Recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDI or equivalent) with UAE MOFA attestation and Ministry of Education equivalency.
• Minimum 2‑3 years full‑time experience teaching Islamic Studies to non‑Arab students, preferably in an American‑curriculum school.
• IELTS score of 5.5 or higher.
• Experience in the UAE or GCC region is an advantage.
