IT Coordinator

About the role

The IT Coordinator will lead the operational management and future expansion of Vopak’s terminal IT infrastructure and cloud‑based systems in Fujairah. Reporting to senior IT leadership, the role ensures reliable network services, robust disaster‑recovery processes, and alignment with global IT standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the annual IT infrastructure budget in partnership with Finance.
• Negotiate contracts, SLAs and AMCs with vendors and service providers.
• Maintain high network uptime using redundant ISP links, SD‑WAN architecture and continuous monitoring tools.
• Design, document and test high‑availability failover mechanisms, off‑site recovery procedures and cloud backup for critical applications.
• Coordinate installation, configuration and upgrades of servers, network devices, firewalls and shared software in line with global standards.
• Oversee 24/7 stability, performance and support for physical and virtual servers, and manage the IT helpdesk.
• Enforce access controls, cybersecurity protocols and data‑protection strategies to meet local regulations and corporate policies.
• Maintain IT governance, risk‑management frameworks and audit readiness across business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT engineering (minimum 3 years experience) or IT degree with at least 5 years experience.
• Relevant IT certifications are preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong oral and written English communication skills.
• Team‑player attitude with awareness of customer needs.
