IT Specialist - IT Operations & Governance

About the role

CERT is looking for an experienced and proactive IT specialist to manage IT operations, strengthen IT governance and ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards and applicable regulations. Reporting to the IT manager, the successful candidate will own day-to-day IT coordination, supervise operational execution and make sure IT services, policies, processes and controls are maintained and followed. The role suits someone combining strong technical knowledge, team leadership, operational discipline and experience in IT governance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily IT operations, including infrastructure, technical support, service delivery and system maintenance.
• Lead and coordinate IT support and development teams, monitor service performance, incidents, service requests, SLAs and escalations, and identify operational risks.
• Develop, review and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards and SOPs, and ensure compliance with internal policies, UAE regulations, contracts and industry standards.
• Coordinate IT audits, maintain compliance documentation and follow up on audit findings; support risk management, cybersecurity governance, access controls, change management and business continuity.
• Support the IT manager, coordinate with internal departments, vendors and service providers, prepare performance reports and dashboards, track deliverables and action plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• 5-8 years of relevant IT experience, including IT operations, team coordination and governance responsibilities.
• Proven ability to supervise IT teams and manage operational priorities.
• Experience developing and maintaining IT policies, SOPs, compliance documentation and operational controls.
• Good understanding of IT governance frameworks and information security principles; familiarity with UAE compliance requirements is an advantage.
• Excellent command of English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems administration, service management and technical support operations.
• Knowledge of IT governance frameworks and information security principles, including ITIL, ISO 27001 and COBIT.
• Organizational, analytical, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
