Senior Systems Architect - Infrastructure

About the role

Open Innovation AI builds software that manages AI workloads across diverse infrastructures, and is hiring a Senior Systems Architect - Infrastructure. This is a senior individual-contributor role: you are the technical authority for the infrastructure solutions presented to customers, owning each solution end-to-end from pre-sales technical discovery through to a validated design package that Delivery and Operations can execute. The team is being built out, so you will also help define reference architectures and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with sales and the customer in pre-sales, run design workshops after a deal is signed, and carry each opportunity through to a complete, validated design.
• Produce the full design package: HLDs, LLDs, sizing models, the Bill of Materials (BoQ) and as-built (LOA) documentation.
• Architect and size GPU compute, high-speed networking (up to 800GbE, RoCE-based fabrics) and enterprise storage (Pure Storage, NetApp, VAST, DDN) around the Open Innovation Cluster Manager and air-gapped Kubernetes, adding load balancing (F5 BIG-IP) where needed.
• Act as the trusted technical advisor to customers, explaining trade-offs and holding final sign-off on design and BoQ.
• Define reusable reference architectures, sizing models and baseline BoQs, and establish design principles and guardrails.
• Validate that solutions are deliverable with Delivery and Platform Engineering and supportable with Operations.
• Travel to customer sites across the UAE for workshops and meetings, working mostly over Teams.

Required profile

• 7-10 years in infrastructure architecture, solutions architecture or senior systems engineering, with end-to-end ownership of customer designs.
• Strong track record designing enterprise and AI/HPC infrastructure and producing HLDs, LLDs, sizing models and BoQs.
• Ability to balance technical design against commercial and delivery realities and to defend final architecture decisions.
• Fluent written and spoken English; willingness to travel to customer sites in the UAE, including sensitive environments.

Required skills

• Linux and datacenter hardware across compute, storage and networking.
• Deep, hands-on Kubernetes expertise.
• Preferred: GPU infrastructure design, hands-on experience with Pure Storage, NetApp, VAST or DDN, air-gapped Kubernetes, and relevant vendor or architecture certifications.
