Junior Accountant

About the role

A client in Dubai is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations. The role works closely with the Senior Manager to keep financial records accurate and accounting tasks completed on time. It is an on-site position in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting operations, including recording financial transactions and keeping accurate records
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries and supporting documentation
• Help with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Carry out bank and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Support the preparation of financial statements, reports and management accounts
• Help with VAT calculations, tax documentation and other tax-related work
• Keep invoices, receipts and other financial documents properly filed
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing
• Ensure records comply with company policy and UAE regulations, and coordinate with internal departments

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial procedures
• Good written and spoken English
• Attention to detail, organisation and numerical accuracy; able to work independently and in a team
• Willingness to learn accounting and taxation

Required skills

• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Basic knowledge of UAE VAT and tax regulations is an advantage
