About the role
The Junior Logistics Officer will support the daily operations of SKM's logistics department, ensuring smooth coordination of fleet activities, inventory tracking, and shipment documentation. You will work closely with carriers, warehouse staff, and vendors to guarantee timely deliveries across the UAE.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in scheduling and tracking shipments to meet delivery deadlines.
- Prepare and verify transport documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs paperwork.
- Communicate with freight forwarders, couriers, and transport providers to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate logs in Excel and the Freight Order System, and help prepare weekly performance reports.
- Support compliance with local and international transport regulations, incoterms, and customs procedures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Basic knowledge of Dubai and Sharjah customs online portals.
- Understanding of planning, purchasing, and logistics policies.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably HVAC, is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for vendor negotiations.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Intermediate proficiency with ERP software.
- Basic understanding of transport regulations, incoterms, and customs procedures.
