Junior Maintenance Technician - GSE

About the role

dnata, one of the world’s largest air services providers, is looking for a Junior Maintenance Technician to join its Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team in Dubai. You will support senior technicians in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, fault finding and repair of a wide range of ground handling equipment and vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily maintenance tasks, ensuring proper housekeeping and tool care.
• Diagnose and repair faults on equipment, vehicles and plant to minimise downtime.
• Record all work in the log book and Maintenance Management System.
• Assist with scheduled maintenance following manufacturers’ recommendations, ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
• Carry out daily inspections of equipment for operational reliability and safety.
• Support ULD repair and assembly activities in line with MOE, EASA/GCAA regulations.

Required profile

• 2‑year trade certificate in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years experience in facilities, automotive, electrical, civil or mechanical maintenance, preferably in aviation ground support or cargo handling.
• UAE driving licence (and home‑country licence where applicable).
• Valid licence for operating equipment (ADP) where required.
• Proficient written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic and refrigeration systems.
• Experience with hydraulics, lifting equipment, conveyor and material‑handling systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs, AC‑DC motor control, traction batteries and chargers.
• Ability to maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, Ground Power Units (GPU), Pre‑conditioned Air (PCA) units and generators.
