Junior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer specialized in HVAC to join our site engineering team in Dubai. This entry‑level position is ideal for fresh graduates or engineers with up to two years of experience who want to develop a solid foundation in MEP construction, HVAC installation, and on‑site supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with daily site inspections of HVAC ductwork, chilled water piping, AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems.
• Prepare and modify AutoCAD shop drawings, schematic diagrams, and material submittals in line with project specifications and local codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA).
• Track material deliveries, inspect incoming equipment for quality, and compile daily progress logs and quantity take‑offs.
• Participate in joint site inspections with client consultants and support testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems.
• Support site safety compliance by ensuring all technicians and subcontractors follow HSE protocols.
• Draft daily and weekly progress reports, RFIs, and maintain accurate project records.

Required profile

• Willingness to work outdoors on active construction sites alongside foremen, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Strong written and spoken English for clear RFI drafts, site logs, and status updates.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude with curiosity about design decisions and site conflicts.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing site conditions and priorities.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good communication skills.

Required skills

• AutoCAD – ability to read, edit, layer, and modify 2D MEP shop drawings.
• Basic exposure to Carrier HAP or Elite for cooling load estimation.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel for quantity take‑offs and reporting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word for documentation.
