Junior R&D Engineer - Concrete Mix Design

About the role

e.construct is a fast-growing multi-disciplinary engineering design firm with 7 offices worldwide, covering structural, MEP, geotechnical and emerging construction technologies such as 3D printed concrete and 3D laser scanning. It is looking for a Junior R&D Engineer in Dubai to support research and development of concrete and UHPC mix designs through laboratory testing and data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and preparing concrete and UHPC mix designs and carry out laboratory trial batches
• Test concrete, cement, aggregates, admixtures and other construction materials according to ASTM standards and approved procedures
• Analyze and interpret test data to evaluate and optimize trial mixes and materials
• Investigate abnormal or inconsistent results and repeat or troubleshoot trials under the direction of senior engineers
• Help prepare technical reports, presentations, trial summaries, data sheets and other R&D documentation
• Help prepare, review and update laboratory SOPs, test procedures, checklists and work instructions
• Operate laboratory equipment according to approved procedures and help with verification, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, sample identification and traceability following good laboratory practices
• Take part in R&D meetings and share updates on ongoing trials and results
• Collaborate with senior R&D engineers and other technical teams on research, product development and mix optimization
• Join technical training and continuous learning programs on concrete technology and laboratory testing

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 0-2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Knowledge of concrete technology and construction materials is a plus
• Attention to detail and accuracy in mix preparation, data recording, calculations and reporting
• Eagerness to learn and develop
