Junior Sous Chef

About the role

As a Junior Sous Chef at Rixos Premium Dubai JBR, you will support the Executive Chef in delivering high‑quality culinary experiences for hotel guests. Working in a luxury hotel environment, you will help lead the kitchen brigade, maintain food standards and contribute to menu innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring consistent culinary standards.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Oversee food preparation, presentation and quality across all outlets.
• Coach and mentor junior chefs to develop their skills.
• Contribute to menu development, seasonal specials and creative concepts.
• Support ordering, stock control, food costing and waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and quality standards at all times.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized and equipment well‑maintained.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a senior kitchen role, preferably in a hotel or high‑volume setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, product handling and culinary techniques.
• Passion for creativity, seasonal ingredients and contemporary food trends.
• Ability to lead, coach and inspire a diverse kitchen team.
• Excellent organisation and time‑management skills, staying calm under pressure.
