Junior Systems Engineer – Hybrid Infrastructure & Cloud

About the role

The Junior Systems Engineer provides first‑line support for the organization’s IT infrastructure and assists senior engineers with on‑premises and Microsoft Azure environments. You will monitor systems, perform routine maintenance, and help resolve basic infrastructure issues while building your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor server health and availability, perform routine checks, and report issues.
• Assist with Active Directory user account administration and basic OS patching.
• Support server builds, deployments, and basic configuration for Windows and Linux.
• Perform Level 1 troubleshooting of Windows and Linux servers and verify backup completion.
• Assist with Azure resource monitoring, VM and storage administration, and Azure Backup/Recovery tasks.
• Review Azure alerts, participate in cloud‑related projects, and follow security policies.
• Document operational activities, maintain audit records, and escalate complex incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or technical support.
• Basic understanding of security best practices, patch management, and cloud governance.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows Server (basic knowledge)
• Linux (Red Hat, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu – basic knowledge)
• VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper‑V (basic understanding)
• Microsoft Azure fundamentals – Azure VMs, Azure Storage, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor
• Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (basic knowledge)
• Group Policy (basic understanding)
• Enterprise storage concepts and backup/recovery fundamentals
• Patch Management, Endpoint Protection, Multi‑Factor Authentication
• Basic system hardening and cloud security awareness
