Junior/Senior Radiation Surveyor

About the role

A client of the recruiter is looking for an experienced and dedicated Junior or Senior Radiation Surveyor to protect human health and environmental safety. The role is based at a high-profile client site in the United Arab Emirates and involves ensuring strict compliance and controlling hazards in dynamic settings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precise radiation and contamination surveys across nuclear facilities and industrial sites, following Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) protocols.
• Identify, assess and control radiological and chemical hazards proactively.
• Develop, implement and enforce site-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
• Inspect work areas for radiological and construction-related health hazards.
• Lead pre-job briefings with personnel on risks and safety measures.
• Carry out air sampling and analyse the collected data.
• Maintain accurate records of surveys, data logs and system updates.
• Ensure hazardous areas are correctly posted and labelled in line with federal and site regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience for the Junior level and 5 years for the Senior level in a radiation protection role.
• High School Diploma required; a Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Physics or a related STEM field is a strong asset.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
• Detail-oriented problem solver committed to safety protocols.

Required skills

• Successful passing of a Radiation Safety certification exam.
• Radiation and contamination surveying and air sampling.
