Kitchen Artist – Pastry

About the role

The Kitchen Artist – Pastry will lead the pastry production team at W Hotels, Yas Island, ensuring that every dessert and decorative food display meets the brand’s high standards of quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen staff.
• Design and execute decorative food displays and determine presentation standards.
• Control portion sizes, arrangement, and garnish for all pastry items.
• Monitor food quantities prepared and communicate menu specials or out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
• Prepare special meals or substitute items as required.
• Assist cooks with tasks, provide necessary items, and maintain stock of supplies.
• Maintain kitchen logs for food safety programs and ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees.
• Follow all safety, security, and uniform policies and report any incidents.
• Address guest service needs and maintain professional communication.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant pastry or kitchen experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
