Kitchen Manager – International Cuisine

About the role

To meet Kitopi's kitchen goals, the Kitchen General Manager is responsible for running a profitable kitchen while ensuring quality, speed and accuracy. The Unit Manager works with the team to set goals, create plans, monitor progress and coach staff to continuously improve overall kitchen performance.

Key responsibilities

• Set and oversee achievement of business objectives together with the Area Manager.
• Ensure excellent kitchen operations in quality, speed and accuracy to exceed customer expectations.
• Assign tasks, hold team accountable and enforce SOPs across all processes.
• Achieve sales and profit targets for the kitchen.
• Maintain sanitation, safety and security policies and enforce strict compliance with local municipality codes.
• Manage productivity and control staff costs.
• Support new initiatives or expansion plans.
• Act as coach, handling recruitment, training, retention and engagement of the team.
• Oversee growth and development of employees.
• Maintain effective working relationships between managers and team members.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in operations and culinary management.
• Excellent knowledge of food legislation, relevant codes of practice, quality standards and health & safety legislation.
• Proven restaurant and kitchen management experience, especially in fast‑food and delivery environments.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
