Kitchen Steward – Abu Dhabi Edition Hotel

About the role

The Kitchen Steward ensures the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, store rooms and related areas at the Abu Dhabi EDITION hotel. You will operate dishwashing equipment, handle waste, and support the food‑and‑beverage team by maintaining a spotless working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect and sanitize kitchen surfaces, tools, knives, silverware and equipment using appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly and rotate stock as needed.
• Inspect, pull, stack and re‑wash items that do not meet quality standards.
• Break down dirty bus tubs, empty trashcans, manage dumpster areas and recycle cardboard and glass.
• Clean and mop all assigned department floors and surfaces.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies; report maintenance issues and accidents.
• Lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lb and stand or walk for extended periods.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or GED required.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing machines and three‑compartment sinks.
• Use of cleaning and sanitising chemicals in a kitchen environment.
• Handling of trash compactors and waste‑recycling equipment.
