Kitchen Technician

About the role

FIVE Hotels and Resorts is hiring a Kitchen Technician (Tradesman) for its Engineering team in Dubai. The role covers maintenance and repair of kitchen and laundry equipment, preventive maintenance and related documentation, within a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair kitchen and laundry equipment, and uphold preventive maintenance and shift reading programmes
• Inspect, diagnose and repair kitchen equipment, solve problems and minimise downtime
• Evaluate equipment usage and energy efficiency and take measures to optimise performance
• Manage and update shop drawings, equipment catalogues and tagging directories
• Complete work orders, paperwork and a daily log book recording problems, solutions and activities
• Take part in department meetings and suggest improvements
• Maintain health and safety documentation, report hazards and respond to work requests on health and safety matters
• Take part in the emergency response team and follow environmentally friendly practices with chemicals and refrigerants
• Stay updated on kitchen equipment and technology through training and carry out work orders and tasks assigned by the Chief Engineer

Required profile

• Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel or healthcare environment in the UAE
• Excellent physical stamina to lift heavy loads and stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to work autonomously and solve technical issues proactively
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, detail-oriented, hands-on attitude

What we offer
