Lab Instructor – Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology seeks a Lab Instructor for Mechanical and Mechatronics engineering diploma programmes. The role combines lecture delivery with hands‑on laboratory supervision, equipment installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and assessments for diploma‑level mechanical/mechatronics courses.
• Prepare, install, and maintain laboratory equipment, tools and consumables.
• Support faculty and students during workshops, projects and lab sessions.
• Maintain preventive‑maintenance schedules, manuals and logs for all equipment.
• Advise students, enforce safety and housekeeping procedures, and contribute to college policies.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant industrial or teaching experience.
• Fluent English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Membership in an internationally recognised professional association is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem‑solving abilities.
• Advanced computer literacy for integrating educational technology.
• Experience with laboratory equipment installation, maintenance and safety protocols.
