Laundry Supervisor

About the role

Rixos Al Mairid is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laundry Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the laundry department. The role ensures that washing, drying, ironing and distribution are carried out efficiently and meet the highest standards of hygiene and quality, while managing a team of attendants and supporting guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate laundry attendants to ensure efficient operation and high-quality service.
• Oversee the full laundry process, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing and folding, with high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Monitor laundry equipment and report maintenance issues to the engineering team.
• Check linens, uniforms and guest laundry against quality standards before distribution.
• Manage stock levels of detergents, chemicals and laundry supplies, with proper storage and usage.
• Coordinate guest laundry, dry cleaning and pressing services, including special requests.
• Implement eco-friendly practices such as optimizing water and energy use and reducing chemical waste.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety and infection control standards, including handling of soiled and contaminated linens.
• Train attendants on best practices, machine operation, safety protocols and guest service.
• Work with housekeeping, uniform and linen departments and keep accurate records of operations, maintenance logs, inventory and performance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a hospitality or textile management diploma or certification is a plus.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a hotel or commercial laundry operation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Ability to lead, train and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Understanding of laundry chemicals, fabric care and machine operation.
• Problem-solving ability to resolve operational challenges quickly.
