Food Safety Officer (Emirati)

About the role

A Dubai government entity, recruited through a recruiter, is hiring an Emirati Food Safety Officer to carry out food safety inspections and ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulations and standards. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect restaurants, markets, factories, catering businesses and other food establishments.
• Inspect imported and exported food products at entry points.
• Verify food safety compliance, hygiene standards and employee health requirements.
• Review food labels, safety documents and establishment records.
• Investigate complaints and identify food safety violations.
• Collect food samples for laboratory testing based on risk assessments.
• Inspect food transportation vehicles and monitor food handling practices.
• Record inspection findings, violations and penalties.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Food Safety, Food Science, Food Processing, Public Health or Environmental Health.
• Emirati nationals: no experience required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
• Understanding of HACCP and ISO 22000.
• Food safety risk assessment.
• Inspection and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
