Lead Aircraft Mechanic – Base Heavy Maintenance

About the role

The Lead Aircraft Mechanic will oversee maintenance tasks on Emirates and third‑party aircraft components, ensuring compliance with procedures and safety regulations. Working under a Licensed Engineer, the role combines hands‑on servicing with technical leadership at the base heavy‑maintenance facility.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and component replacement in line with aircraft maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogues and manufacturer guidelines.
• Use specialised tooling and test equipment to inspect, test and service aircraft systems and components.
• Communicate technical status and serviceability updates to relevant teams and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support Emirates Flight Training Academy by maintaining its fleet, assisting with AOG recovery and preparing aircraft for training operations.

Required profile

• Vocational, National or Higher National Diploma (or equivalent apprenticeship) in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Proven experience in aircraft maintenance within an engineering environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of maintenance safety, human factors and general engineering practices.
• Understanding of airport authority regulations for airside driving and aircraft movements, with a valid Airport Driving Permit where required.
