Lead Construction Engineer – Mechanical Offshore

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Lead Construction Engineer to direct mechanical offshore construction activities for oil & gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing site execution, managing contractors, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise offshore mechanical construction in line with project specifications, HSE requirements and quality standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore teams to optimise execution.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and within budget.
• Review construction procedures, method statements, work packs and mechanical completion documentation.
• Monitor progress, resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and offshore regulations.
• Support pre‑commissioning, commissioning and project hand‑over activities.
• Prepare construction reports and provide regular progress updates to project management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 15–18+ years of experience in oil & gas construction, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
• Minimum 5 years of offshore experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of offshore process and utility systems.
• Familiarity with international standards; experience on PMC and EPC offshore projects preferred.
• Previous experience on ADNOC projects is an advantage.
