Lead Design – Solar (Electrical DC)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Design – Solar (Electrical DC) to head the electrical design activities for solar PV power plants in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Section Head – Solar & Project Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of design engineers and draughts persons, ensuring high‑quality engineering deliverables from pre‑bid studies through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Review and execute engineering tasks for solar PV projects, including generation estimates, overall plant layout, and DC single‑line diagram (SLD) preparation.
• Select solar modules, size inverters, design SMB systems and earthing layouts, and perform cable and conduit sizing calculations.
• Coordinate BIM modelling for 3D plant models and conduct interdisciplinary checks with civil, structural, instrumentation and MEP teams.
• Review documentation from the engineering office in India, explain it to local contractors, and ensure timely delivery of drawings and vendor deliverables.
• Provide technical support to site execution and operations teams, and liaise with OEM engineers, civil contractors and local consultants.

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in design of Solar PV power plants or power distribution projects.
• Fluent in English; Russian language also mentioned.
