Lead Engineer – Automation and Control Service Engineering

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive automation and control activities within its Service Engineering division in Abu Dhabi. You will act as the technical reference for field and project engineers, ensuring rapid resolution of non‑conformities and technical issues across gas turbines, compressors and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage non‑conformities and technical issue resolution with ownership and accountability.
• Provide technical support to field and project engineers for prompt issue resolution.
• Collect, share, and manage engineering lessons learned across projects.
• Troubleshoot products such as heavy‑duty gas turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, electric motors, gearboxes and auxiliaries.
• Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines and lead issue‑resolution processes.
• Prepare and review technical documentation including trip investigation reports, root cause analyses, and corrective‑preventive action plans.
• Follow commissioning team processes, design reviews, quality and safety procedures to meet defined KPIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of technical experience on control systems and rotating machinery at project sites.
• Knowledge of Baker Hughes heavy‑duty gas turbines or centrifugal compressors.
• Fluent English with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites.
