Lead Engineer – Engineering Governance Lead

About the role

The Engineering Lead is responsible for establishing, enforcing, and continuously improving engineering governance, standards, and delivery discipline across SAP and non‑SAP teams. This role brings structure, control and rigor to engineering practices, ensuring consistent, auditable, high‑quality development aligned with EGA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain engineering governance frameworks, standards and assurance processes.
• Oversee compliance with engineering processes across SAP.NET, Java, IBM FileNet, mobile and web solutions.
• Provide structured oversight and audit of development activities without acting as solution architect.
• Lead interdisciplinary projects, ensuring disciplined execution using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Establish reporting, analytics and project planning mechanisms for large‑scale SAP and non‑SAP initiatives.
• Collaborate with government digital transformation programmes and understand departmental decision‑making processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years managing SAP activities and projects.
• At least 5 years managing non‑SAP applications and solutions.
• Experience leading groups of 50+ people across at least five different teams.
• Proven track record in large‑scale SAP implementations and governance.
• Familiarity with regulated environments where process discipline and compliance are critical.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
