Lead Geologist

About the role

Crescent Petroleum is seeking a Lead Geologist to head its Subsurface Team in Sharjah. The role provides technical leadership for all geology‑related activities and ensures timely delivery of high‑quality subsurface studies supporting exploration, appraisal and development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional geological evaluations, structural geology, reservoir characterisation, geomodelling, petroleum systems analysis and geochemistry.
• Define technical scopes, deliverables and requirements for project proposals and integrate seismic, well, core and production data into geological models.
• Conduct probabilistic resource assessments following SPE‑PRMS and other classification systems.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, petrophysicists and geophysicists to maintain 3D geological models across all assets.
• Prepare and present technical documentation for internal reviews, partner meetings and regulatory submissions.
• Mentor junior geoscientists, manage performance, set objectives and identify training needs.
• Support well‑planning activities, including geological prognoses, geohazard assessment and post‑drill evaluations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in upstream geology.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver integrated subsurface interpretations.
• Strong communication skills for presenting technical findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with budgeting, work‑programme planning and governance compliance.
