Lead – Global Logistics

About the role

Orica is seeking a Lead – Global Logistics to join its Global Supply Chain team. The position is based in Dubai and supports operations in Melbourne and Jakarta as well. You will be responsible for chartering and post‑fixture activities across bulk, break‑bulk and containerised cargo, while also contributing to liner freight sourcing and supplier management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end chartering activities (voyage, COA, time charter) and develop commercially optimized freight solutions.
• Advise on freight market dynamics and support the development of short‑ to mid‑term global freight strategy.
• Align logistics solutions with customer delivery requirements (DIFOT) and collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain and Operations.
• Prepare timely freight quotations and ensure cost‑effective execution.
• Plan and schedule vessels to meet demand and compliance, resolving operational issues proactively.
• Oversee post‑fixture activities, monitor charter party performance, manage claims and ensure contractual compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with shipowners, brokers and freight forwarders.

Required profile

• Strong technical chartering expertise combined with commercial acumen.
• Ability to act as a key interface between commercial, operations and external shipping partners.
• Understanding of S&OP plans, financial targets, service expectations and regulatory safety standards.
