Lead Piping Designer Offshore

About the role

The Lead Piping Designer (Offshore) will be based in Abu Dhabi and travel on a rotational basis to ADNOC offshore sites. The role involves conducting site surveys, supporting brownfield assessments, and gathering engineering data to drive piping design from concept through detailed engineering for oil & gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Independently produce piping design drawings for Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering phases.
• Ensure compliance with international codes, standards and project specifications.
• Maintain engineering integrity, quality assurance and document control for all piping deliverables.
• Support field execution, construction activities and as‑built documentation, including site visits.
• Develop complex piping designs, equipment layouts, plot plans and general arrangement drawings.
• Utilise advanced 3D modelling software such as E3D, SP3D or AutoCAD to create detailed models and isometric drawings.
• Conduct site visits to verify and collect field data and assess project conditions.
• Review vendor drawings and provide comments to ensure compatibility with project requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, toolbox talks and knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate with multi‑discipline teams and clients.

Required profile

• Valid OPITO‑approved T‑BOSIET/BOSIET and H₂S certifications with at least six months validity.
• Willingness to travel offshore on a rotational schedule.
• Strong technical background in piping design for oil & gas projects.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
