Inspector - E&I

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector to oversee inspections of power distribution, instrumentation, and control systems for new and brownfield projects in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Attendance at all inspections with client and EPC Contractor representatives for 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV and 415 V AC power distribution, instrument installations, switchgear, control gear, cathodic protection, HVAC, UPS and associated systems.
• Prepare and review method statements and ITPs in coordination with QA/QC and Project Engineers.
• Produce QA/QC reports on inspections, material and non‑conformance issues and verify corrective actions.
• Check drawings and documents for approval status and project compliance.
• Conduct function tests of control valves, SDVs and ESDVs.
• Ensure availability and calibration of special tools and equipment.
• Attend FAT and SAT of all HV and LV electrical equipment.
• Control quality of electrical materials received on site and prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Control Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years experience in oil & gas or petrochemical projects as an inspector for new construction and brownfield modifications of power distribution and instrumentation systems.

Required skills

• Power distribution systems up to 33 kV (33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV, 415 V).
• Switchgear, control gear, UPS, earthing and lighting systems.
• Underground cabling and cathodic protection.
• Instrumentation and control systems, DCS, ESD, fire‑and‑gas systems.
• FAT and SAT procedures for electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of ISO and international standards.
• Fluent English communication.
