Lead Piping Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Lead Piping Engineer to support a major upstream oil & gas project in Abu Dhabi. The role provides specialist piping engineering support, reviews EPC contractor deliverables, and ensures compliance with project specifications, international codes, and ADNOC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve EPC contractor piping deliverables against project specifications and ADNOC standards.
• Provide technical guidance on FEED, concept studies, detailed design, and construction phases.
• Ensure piping layout, material selection, and class specifications meet ASME B31.3 and project requirements.
• Support sour service and H₂S facility engineering, including material and equipment qualification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 18 years of piping engineering experience in upstream oil & gas, preferably gas processing or treatment facilities.
• Proven experience working in a PMC environment and with ADNOC projects and standards.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3 piping code.
• Expertise in piping materials, pipe classes, layout, and design practices.
• Experience with FEED, concept study, design and detail engineering.
• Familiarity with sour service and H₂S facility requirements.
