Construction Manager – Depot & Online Buildings

About the role

The Civil Works Manager – Depot & Online Buildings will lead the design, construction supervision and delivery assurance of all civil and structural works for depot facilities and wayside buildings on a High Speed Rail project. The role ensures safe, on‑spec delivery in line with international and local rail standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage design development, review and construction of depot civil and structural works, including workshops, stabling sheds, inspection pits and related infrastructure.
• Oversee civil and structural works for wayside buildings such as signalling rooms, power substations, telecommunications huts and emergency structures.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, allocate resources, and develop/maintain construction programmes for both depot and online building work‑fronts.
• Control cost, schedule and quality, supervise contractors, and enforce HSE requirements across all sites.
• Coordinate interfaces with permanent way, OCS, signalling, power, MEP and other system contractors, as well as with client, engineer and local authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience managing design and/or construction of rail projects, including at least 5 years on railway projects.
• Proven experience on a High Speed Rail project is highly preferable.
• Previous senior role on a project of similar size and complexity.
• Middle East and UAE experience considered advantageous.

Required skills

• Design review and construction supervision of civil/structural works.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, UIC, AREMA or equivalent rail standards and local UAE/GCC building codes.
• QA/QC management, cost control and schedule management.
• Strong interface and risk management across multidisciplinary contractors.
