Lead Planning & Cost Engineer – Offshore Subsea Project

About the role

The Lead Planning & Cost Engineer will drive schedule development, cost control and reporting for a high‑profile offshore subsea project in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures alignment with ADNOC standards and supports the project team throughout the EPC lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated Level 1‑4 project schedules using Primavera P6, covering engineering, procurement, construction, offshore hook‑up, commissioning and start‑up.
• Establish baselines, perform CPM analysis, monitor progress, conduct schedule reviews and recovery planning to mitigate delays.
• Set up cost control systems, prepare budgets and cost breakdown structures, monitor expenditures, perform variance analysis and produce cost forecasts (EAC, ETC).
• Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, S‑curves, manpower histograms, productivity and earned‑value analyses for management and client review.
• Conduct schedule risk assessments, evaluate change impacts, support claims preparation and extension‑of‑time analysis.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, EPC contractors and ADNOC Offshore representatives to ensure alignment and compliance with ADNOC standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of project controls experience and at least 5 years in a lead planning/cost engineer role on offshore oil & gas projects.
• Experience on ADNOC Offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy or similar major EPC projects.
• Proven experience in FEED, EPC, brownfield/greenfield, offshore platforms, subsea pipelines and associated facilities.

Required skills

• Expert use of Primavera P6 for schedule development and risk analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel and Power BI for reporting.
• Earned Value Management (EVM) implementation.
• Cost control, budgeting and forecasting expertise.
• Schedule risk analysis tools such as Pertmaster or Primavera Risk Analysis.
