Lead Project Engineer – Offshore Island Project

About the role

Lead Project Engineer for an Offshore Island Project, based in Abu Dhabi with later relocation to Spain and back to Abu Dhabi. Responsible for managing engineering activities during the Execute phase of offshore oil & gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multi‑disciplinary engineering work, ensuring deliverables meet scope, schedule and quality requirements.
• Monitor and review FEED and detailed engineering documents across process, piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation and HSE disciplines.
• Oversee EPC contractor engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project standards and timelines.
• Track engineering progress, support schedule development, report milestones and propose mitigation for risks or delays.
• Manage interfaces with client (ADNOC Offshore), contractors and third‑party stakeholders, facilitating design reviews and technical meetings.
• Lead risk and change management, including HAZID, HAZOP and constructability reviews, and ensure implementation of corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 18 years of oil & gas sector experience, with at least 5–7 years in offshore Execute/detailed engineering.
• Extensive experience on process, storage and export facilities for offshore islands.
• Prior involvement in PMC or ADNOC Offshore projects is highly preferred.
