Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer – Offshore Island Project

About the role

KBR is seeking a Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer for an offshore island project. The role will be based in Abu Dhabi, with an interim relocation to the Spain office before returning to the UAE. The engineer will lead the design, selection, procurement and technical management of rotating equipment throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of rotating equipment for offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Prepare, review and approve equipment datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions and vendor drawings.
• Manage selection of compressors, turbines, pumps, blowers, diesel engines, generators and package equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes (API, ISO, ASME, IEC).
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, structural and procurement teams.
• Support procurement, FAT, construction, commissioning and start‑up activities.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, design and constructability reviews.
• Mentor rotating‑equipment engineers and resolve technical issues on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred); professional engineering certification preferred.
• 18–20 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, refinery or offshore EPC projects.
• At least 5 years in a Lead Rotating Engineer role, with FEED to commissioning experience.
• Proven work on ADNOC offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy or similar large Middle‑East projects.
