Lead Safety Engineer (Line Maintenance)

About the role

The Lead Safety Engineer – Line Maintenance will act as the focal point for safety, quality and compliance within Air Arabia’s line‑maintenance operations in Sharjah. The role ensures that all maintenance activities meet regulatory and company standards, drives continuous improvement and promotes a strong safety culture across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with CAR‑145, CAR‑M, MOE and other applicable regulations and company procedures.
• Support the integration of ICAO SMS principles into daily line‑maintenance operations.
• Plan, lead and conduct internal safety and quality audits, inspections, walk‑arounds and spot checks.
• Document audit findings, communicate results and track closure of corrective actions.
• Analyse audit outcomes, SMS reports and operational data to identify emerging risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Participate in incident investigations, perform root‑cause analysis and ensure timely reporting.
• Use safety and audit data to recommend process enhancements that improve safety, quality and efficiency.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through briefings, training sessions and awareness campaigns.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) experience in aviation safety, line‑maintenance or related regulatory roles.
• In‑depth knowledge of GCAA Part‑66 B1/B2 licensing, CAR‑145, CAR‑M and MOE requirements.
• Proven experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Ability to work effectively with safety, quality, engineering and operations teams.
