Lead Telecom Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Lead Commissioning Engineer to oversee telecom systems commissioning at its fabrication yard and support offshore readiness. The role ensures all telecom equipment is tested, safe, and ready for offshore installation and operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead telecom commissioning activities at the yard, including FAT, pre‑commissioning and final commissioning.
• Supervise and coordinate contractors and internal commissioning teams.
• Verify that telecom systems are installed and tested according to project specifications and international offshore standards.
• Review and approve commissioning procedures, test packs and related documentation.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, HSE and client teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Provide support for offshore commissioning and integration when required.
• Report progress, resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with oil & gas safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of experience in oil & gas, with strong offshore project exposure.
• Proven background in telecom commissioning (radio, PA/GA, CCTV, networks, fiber optic).
• Previous experience as a Lead or Senior Commissioning Engineer.
• Experience working in fabrication yards and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with international offshore standards and client requirements.
