Lead UX Designer

About the role

Careers is hiring a Lead UX Designer in Sharjah to design and deliver high-quality, intuitive and visually engaging front-end interfaces and visual artifacts for airline application software, in line with ISA standards and quality requirements. The role provides design guidance so that new and existing airline applications offer consistent, usable and engaging experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Understand, modulate, prototype, design and iterate the visual aspects of existing and new airline software, following end-user feedback and ISA standards.
• Work with technical staff and clients in different locations to understand and resolve software problems.
• Manage tasks, give feedback to junior designers and coordinate with the team lead on workload in agile environments.
• Resolve customer complaints about design and suggest improvements.
• Demonstrate software to stakeholders with the development team and share regular task status, escalating issues as needed.
• Support and teach colleagues on design, techniques, tools and methodology, and help the team grow its skills.
• Provide direction, coaching and guidance on career and professional development, and maintain a performance-driven team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 6-8 years of experience as a User Experience Designer.
• Fluent in English.
• Strong understanding of clients and their business models, and ability to collaborate on multiple projects.

Required skills

• Design systems, user research, usability testing, interaction design and design methodology.
• Photoshop, Illustrator and prototyping tools such as UXPin and InVision.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
