Learning & Development Specialist – Retail (IKEA)

About the role

The Learning & Development Specialist will design, deliver and monitor learning solutions for IKEA stores across the region. The role aligns training initiatives with business priorities, brand competence and the co‑worker journey, ensuring compliance with mandatory learning requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and training needs into annual and monthly learning plans, meeting SLA commitments.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end delivery of classroom, virtual, blended and self‑learning formats, ensuring facilitator and resource readiness.
• Drive learning engagement through campaigns, communication and social learning initiatives to achieve high participation and completion rates.
• Monitor delivery, completion and certification via dashboards, providing accurate monthly reports and meeting compliance targets.
• Act as a learning consultant for line managers, HR Business Partners and SMEs, supporting performance cycles and individual development plans.
• Contribute to regional and retail learning projects, sharing best practices and continuous‑improvement ideas.

Required profile

• Diploma, Higher Diploma or equivalent in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Business or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in L&D, HR or people‑support roles, preferably in retail or multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Experience coordinating learning delivery, onboarding or training programmes.
• Ability to work with learning management systems, maintain accurate records and track certifications.
