Learning & Development Specialist – Retail

About the role

The Learning & Development Specialist will design, coordinate and monitor learning solutions for IKEA stores across the region. The role aligns training with the co‑worker journey, business priorities and IKEA brand standards, ensuring mandatory learning and competence development are delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and training needs into annual and monthly learning plans that meet regional SLA commitments.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end delivery of classroom, virtual, blended and self‑learning formats, ensuring facilitators and resources are ready.
• Drive learning engagement through campaigns, communication and social learning initiatives to achieve high participation and completion rates.
• Monitor delivery, certification and compliance via dashboards, providing timely reports and meeting SLA targets.
• Act as a learning consultant for line managers and HR business partners, supporting performance cycles and individual development plans.

Required profile

• Diploma, Higher Diploma or equivalent vocational qualification in HR, L&D, Business or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in Learning & Development, HR or people‑support roles, preferably in retail or multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Experience supporting learning delivery, onboarding or training coordination and maintaining accurate learning records.
• Ability to work with learning management systems (LMS) to track attendance, completion and certification.
