Learning Support Assistant – English Speaking (UAE)

About the role

Special Minds is looking for fluent English speakers to work as Learning Support Assistants with children who have special educational needs. You will provide one‑to‑one support in a mainstream classroom or at the child’s home, helping them access a curriculum that is not yet fully adapted to their needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one assistance to a designated child during school hours or agreed home hours.
• Follow the child’s individual support plan, addressing behavior, communication, or learning goals set by the school SENCO or the family.
• Submit a brief session record within 24 hours of each session.
• Maintain regular contact with the school SEN team, the family, and a Special Minds coordinator.

Required profile

• Fluent spoken and written English – the placement is language‑immersion.
• Relevant qualification or progress towards one in psychology, education, special needs, early‑years, or a teaching diploma/degree.
• Experience working with children; SEN experience is a strong advantage, but general classroom or childcare experience is acceptable.
• Patience for incremental progress and the ability to celebrate small wins.
• Eligibility to work in the United Arab Emirates or ability to obtain sponsorship/NOC before the placement starts.
