Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a high‑calibre Legal Counsel with regulatory and commercial expertise to join our fast‑growing legal team in the EMEA region, focusing on the Middle East. You will work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to provide business‑friendly legal guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and translate directives, laws and regulations applicable to payment networks and service providers into clear business language.
• Provide timely legal advice on product development and launches to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Draft, negotiate and review commercial agreements with internal and external parties.
• Act as a trusted adviser to management on regulatory matters across EMEA, collaborating with compliance, AML and data‑privacy experts.
• Identify productivity improvements and support process changes.
• Research new territories and deliver proactive, results‑oriented advice for international expansion.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor (UK or European qualified) with at least 6 years post‑qualification experience in financial services or commercial/corporate law.
• Experience in providing legal and regulatory advice and negotiating commercial agreements in the financial services or corporate sector.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
