Librarian – Immediate Start at Noya British School

About the role

Aldar Education is looking for an outstanding Librarian to join Noya British School on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, with an immediate start. The role supports the school’s British curriculum by managing library resources, promoting information literacy, and fostering a love of reading among students.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver library information‑literacy sessions to enable students to locate books, magazines and online resources independently.
• Select, order and catalogue new books and resources for each grade level, using the Destiny Follett system and Dewey Decimal Classification.
• Liaise with teachers to provide curriculum‑related materials and ensure timely distribution to classrooms.
• Maintain the library database, monitor overdue items, collect fines, and repair or replace damaged books.
• Create attractive displays, organise author visits, book fairs and the school Book Club to encourage reading.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Library Studies or Information Management.
• 1–2 years of experience working as a librarian, preferably in an educational setting.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Strong interpersonal abilities for daily interaction with students, parents and staff.
• Excellent office‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Destiny Follett library management system.
• Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification for cataloguing.
